| In response to Re: Shower Diverter Valve | |

: Dear Terry, : I recently install a new American Standard 3 valve bath/shower faucet.I am : unable to completely stop water flow from the shower head when the bath faucet : is in use. The shower flows well when the diverter is turned : to select the shower. How do I remove the diverter to inspect/replace it? : The faucet is a modern washerless cartridge type design. The stem : for the diverter valve appears to be made of a nylon/plastic : material. Any help you can provide is gratefully appreciated. : The faucet has been in service about 3 months. : Regards, : Steve Lyman : Canton, MI I'm having the exact problem. Our diverter valve is 40yrs old. The end is stripped, so I am in search of an Elger model locally. In the meantime I reinstalled it and it drips from the faucet- a handle setup..Should the central stem be all the way in when it's put back into the wall or did I miss a gasket or ring somewhere. I didn't sceal. Thanks for the advice. I hope to solve this myself. Jeana |
