In response to Re: installing ejector pump
: I have been surfing the net looking for the best way to install an ejector pump. We are hooking one up for a basement bathroom (tub, sink, toilet) and laundry room (sink, washing machine). I have found several different suggests. All advise a check valve, some advise a drain valve or a gate valve as well. Some suggest a 2" drain on the discharge and others a 3". What would you advise? Also do you have any suggests on a brand or model that is reliable?

: Thanks for your help...I've been reading some of the other messages and it has been very helpful and straightforward

Gina, For residential use, a zoller or little Giant sewer lift package is all you need. Install as per manufacturers recomendations. Use a 2" PVC ball valve and a 2" check valve. The pump has a 2" drain. Use 2" all the way to the main drain tie in.Use a y fitting faceing up then turn down to the pump. Dale's Plumbing Service Inc LMP
