If you use a mud set tile, that is the best. Multi piece units will always need recaulking, and there is a point when you will no longer be able to do it and still have a good looking unit. : We are planning our bathroom remodeling project and have received differing opinions as to whether we should use either a tub with tile on the walls or a multi-piece shower/tub unit. Our family has 2 adults who take showers exclusively and 1 infant daughter (for whom we need the tub). The overall cost will not be too different so I am most concerned about which option will protect best against water damage over a long period of time. Any suggestions?
