You have to remove enough tiles to get above the level of the entry ledge. For the same reason we park in driveways and drive in parkways. Or possibly, since the water is no longer cold once it starts heating, it is then heating hot water to a hotter temperature.
: I have a shower pan leaking in my house. The house was build in 1983-84? It is a tile shower so I know I have to bang up the old tile and replace the pan, but What tools will I need, and how many rows of tiles do I need to remove? Finally, Why do people call it a hot water heater?
