: WE HAVE AN INSIDE THE HOUSE WELL PUMP. IT APPEARS
: WITHIN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS THAT THE PUMP
: ACTIVATES QUITE FREQUENTLY. WHAT CAN BE CAUSING A
: WATER PUMP TO CYCLE ON AND OFF CONTINUOUSLY? WHAT
: WOULD CAUSE A PUMP TO GO ON AND CYCLE DURING THE
: MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHEN EVERYONE HAS BEEN ASLEEP FOR
: HOURS? WE DO HAVE A CARTRIDGE FILTER FOLLOWED BY
: A WATER CLARIFYER/FILTER AND A SOFTNER. THEY ARE ON
: A 2 DAY A WEEK SCHEDULE FOR BACKWASHING AND
: REGENERATING AND THEN I CAN UNDERSTAND THE PUMP GOING
: ON. BUT THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY, ROUND THE CLOCK
: WHEATHER WATER IS BEING USED OR NOT. ALSO, IF A
: FACUET IS TURNED ON ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS - - YOU
: GUESSED IT, THE PUMP GOES ON LIKE CLOCKWORK!

: THANK YOU. BOB

Bob,
Sounds like a waterlogged expansion tank, that combined with a slow leak somewhere. Check the toilets in the home for leaking flappers. Terry
