|In response to Re: water heater|
: My water heater is on its last legs and needs replacement. A coworker is offering to sell a used water heater (less than one year) , possibly a GE model for much less than a new one. What should I be concerned about when looking it over and is there any reason to worry about sitting water inside the tank causing corrosion or bacteria build up? From what I can tell this unit received relatively low use from the owner.
: Thanks in advance for any help.
As long as this has been in some use up to the time it goes to you there shouldn't be to much to be concerned about. But you may want to take a sample to your local lab to get your water tested for nitrates and bacterior. If you are on a well system clorox the entire water system. Instructions can be obtained from your local health dept. Dale's Plumbing Service LMP
