The opening in the toilet is about 5" above the base, and you have to make the connection to the drain in such a way as to not allow the upper level flushes to impair its operation. If the connection is made correctly, then the main is about the correct elevation to install that type of toilet.
: We are installing a second bath in the lower level of our raised ranch, we have heard of a "back flush" toilet which actually drains out the back of the toilet instead of the bottom. This would save us from notching out out cement floor or raising the floor more than 12 inches. The top of the main drain pipe is 8 inches off the floor. Can you provide any info on this type toilet? Thanks!
