Soap up the inside of the ferncos and the outside ends of the pipe will help. : : HELP!!!!!! I have an open 3" drain and am trying to replace the 5' piece with a new piece of ABS. Sounded simple (just like all other do-it-yourself plumbing jobs-----you guys deserve $50 or $60+ an hour): cut the pipe; measure a new piece; install using two ferco fittings. I lift weights and am no sissy!!! there just HAS to be a way to easily slip these damn fercos on the pipe and up or down the pipe w/o ripping down the whole system. What is this devine secret?
