: Hello Jerry, I'm thinking about replacing my bathtub. I've been told I will need to cut a hole in an adjacent wall to gain access to the drain. Are there any other options besides cutting surrounding walls? My problem is both walls on drain side are exterior and I'd rather not cut a hole in them to get to the drain. Thank you. Jason

Jason A good plumber can get the drain in without cutting a hole in the wall. Do you have your water lines on an exterior wall? If you have a crawl space or unfinished basement it would be very easy to do. but it can be done on slab or second floor without cutting the wall or ceiling.Dale's Plumbing Service LMP
