In response to Re: Old Price Pfister tub faucet leaks
: Thanks for the diagram last year. The faucet we needed to work on was American Standard but I thought it was a Price Pfister because the plate on the tub drain device said Price Pfister. However, we have a second bathroom with a leaky faucet and need a diagram with instructions for it. This fixture has one (not two) "cup cake" styled handle which pulls out (on) and pushes in (off) but no longer shuts the water off no matter how hard we slam it. David took the handle and plate off but could not get the rest apart. Help!

Be prepared when you head to your local hardware or DIY store to purchase a new faucet. It's not as
easy as it used to be. You will be faced with a myriad of different faucets --- differences that go far
beyond the exterior look of the faucet. It's the internal construction that really sets one brand apart from
the next.

Since its invention over 25 years ago, the one-piece cartridge from Moen´┐Ż Incorporated has
been the most advanced design in the plumbing industry. Unlike ceramic discs and ball valves
which contain numerous components, the cartridge is one, simple self-contained assembly.
Fewer parts mean fewer things to go wrong. That's why the cartridge, with its stainless steel
valve piston construction, provides smooth functioning and worry-free performance.

The Moen cartridge system also offers another advantage over the competition --- it contains
no washers or seats, the most common causes of faucet leaks. This means an unequaled
record for reliability and service. To back this up, Moen provides the watertight Lifetime
Limited Warranty. If any Moen faucet should leak, you will receive replacement parts at no
cost. And replacing the cartridge is easy. . . just take out the old and drop in the new.

The cartridge design and other unique faucet features are the reason why the Moen name is recognized as
a brand leader in North America by builders, plumbers and homeowners alike. So, the next time you head
to the store, be a well-educated consumer and choose a Moen faucet . . . with the one piece cartridge you
can't go wrong.
