: we are installing a shower in a half bath downstairs in our basement. it does not have a floor drain so therefore i need to know how to hook up to the washer drain. can you help me? Vonda, you need to cut up the floor and cut a 2" wye into the 2" shower drain. Then you need to install a 1-1/2 vent off the shower drain no futher than 60" from the trap. Dale Peck LMP
