: I have a bradford-white water heater and can not lite the pilot. I have replaced the thermocouple (did not overtighten it) and lit the pilot but goes out when I release the pilot button. The thermocouple is in the flame and is definitely hot. I was told to try the same procedure with the two wires to the valve unhooked. I did this and it still went out immediately after releasing the pilot button. Do I need a new propane valve, or is there more to the system because of the power vent system.

Brad, there is a computer board that needs to be replaced. I have had a problem with the same heater in the past. You will need the model # and seriel # and then you may have to get a plumber to buy it at a plumbing wholesale supply. Hope this helps. Also make sure the fan is plugged in and working.Dale Peck LMP
