toilet clogged

I might have use too much paper, I'm not sure. I flush it down and no problem. Later on I flushed my toilet again and thats when the water would not go down. Also this time I used less tissue. I live in an apartment, I was told to don't pour any liquid such as Drano down. I used the plunger many times but its not working so I think maybe the best thing to do is contact my superintendent and if I have to, I'll call a plumer I also consider using an auger or snake but since I'm not a toilet expert, I think I'll leave it alone an wait. Any advice you can give would be great. Sincerly,
