|In response to Re: Leaking Shower|
: I have suddenly discovered on a 2nd floor fiberglass shower a leak. Of course I noticed this as water was streaming through the ceiling drywall. I dont know if the drain is plugged but will snake out the line as a first step. I dont know if the backed up water would cause some sort of leak, but I had noticed in the past few days there was a small puddle of water in the basin.
: So the big question is this, assuming I clean the line what next, how do I repair the leak or what should I look for to repair.
: Thanks for the help.
Jerry, get a plug and seal off the drain fill the base with water, let it stand for 30min. If there is no leak I would even stand in the base to see if there is a crack or if it leaks with the extra weight in it. But if it doesnt leak after all this, then the leak could be in the trap or waste line also the shower arm may be cracked, take off the shower head and cap it and turn on the water to cheak it.
