: How long should a hot water heater last? My hot water heater stoped working, I have an elec. heater what should I check for? If I need new one how much for instalation? : Thanks, : David David, A water heater can last from 7yrs to 20yrs. The condition of your water has a lot to do with the longivity of the heater and checking the anode tube in the heater. You may have a bad heating element or a blown fuse. I would have that checked before you did anything else. Dale Peck LMP |
