: I've always been told to use black pipe for hooking up a stove to the natural gas supply. What is the problem with using galvanized pipe? Is there also a problem with mixing black pipe with galvanized?
Lou, It all depends on the plumbing code you have in your area. Galvanized pipe flakes off and can plug the orfices in your pilots etc. We use gal or black here in ks under the upc code.Black is the least expensive of the two. Dale Peck LMP
