My 1962 model Elger #134 toilet water tank will not stop leaking water from the tank into the bowl. The discharge opening in the tank is just a hole in the porcelin normally plugged buy a rubber ball whis is lowered up and down by the flush handle. I have bought replacement balls, flappers, and flapper sets that contained a waterproof putty to seal the union. They all leak enough to drop the float below the fill level every 5 minutes or so. I hate to buy a new toilet because the orig home owners custom colored matching sink, seat, toilet and cabinetry which could never be duplicated today. HELP!! |
