![]() : I am in the process of expanding an upstairs bathroom and am putting a shower in. Plans are for a mortar floor but I'm stuck on a "concern". I have one wall to frame onto which represents one length of the enclosure (about 4 feet) the other 2 walls will be "free" standing by tying into the floor joists through the subfloor. Plans are to tile the shower after framing. Do I have enough support here w/o going into the ceiling with corner support? No. I have found tile to be very unforgiving. I would find a way to incorporate something running to the ceilings for the needed stiffness. Terry
