: I'm confused about venting hose for our dryer. When we moved in the venting was sagging under the house and was not connected to the outside outlet We had it extended so the hot moist air will travel to the outside. Now people are telling us that a dryer vent should be only a certain prescribed distance/length for maximum efficiency. Now the air has to travel a little less than 20 feet. There is a wall that is closer. Should we move the outside vent? Is there a good way to clean out the inside of the dryer hose without crawling under the house or installing a new one?

Ally,
The shorter the vent, the more air will move through it. I don't know of a fail safe method of cleaning ducts. Hopefully, you will have 4" warm air metal duct piping. Terry
