In response to Re: Sump Pump Repair
: There is a sump pump in the house we just purchased. It is used to move the sewage from the basement bathroom up to the street level where the city sewage is. When we bought the house there was a terrible noise when the pump shut off. I think this was the check valve making a knocking noise. At first it would make one knock. Then it began making two or more.

: Now the knocking has stopped but I am noticing that you can here some water flow back into the resevoir. Now the pump has stopped kicking on by itself. I can manually run the pump by a button on the power cord.

: I guess I am needing to replace the check valve. Is there also some fill valve that I will need to replace on the pump itself? How tough will this be? It is hard for me to know without opening the container and the way it is setup I will need to do that after I get the check valve out. The valve is in the pipe going out of the tank and there is very little play to get the valve out.

: Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

: Thanks
