: My pipes make a light knocking noise every minute or so. Ok during the day but very annoying at night. It's not related to if you are using the taps. Someone mentioned to me something about a heat exchanger on the boiler (it's an indirect system). Could it be this causing the noise? If not, any ideas?

Jas, the tapping noise is caused by the expansion and contraction of copper lines,or flue pipe or some other metals that are rubbing against a 2x4 or whatever. listen closely for the spot and you may be able to free it up some how.Hope this helps. Dale Peck LMP
