| In response to Re: toilet leaking a function of temperature? | |
|
: My toilet started leaking recently around the base. It is not condensation, so I assume I need to replace : the wax valve. However, it only leaks when it is cold outside. This fall, the temps have went up and down : a bit. During a cold spell last month, the toilet leaked. When it warmed up for a few weeks, the leaking : stopped. Last night it was cold again, and the leaking returned. I'm pretty sure the water is coming out : from under the base of the toilet. : HELP! : Steve Steve, I don't know for sure what the cold weather is doing except hardening the wax if it over a crawl space and hot weather softens the wax. Just change the wax seal and your troubles will be over. (WE Hope) Dale Peck LMP |
