Put the valve between positions. Tighten the "bonnet" nut just behind the handle. Then open the valve up all the way, and back it in an 1/8 turn. If that doesn't work, repacking the valve stem material or replacement may be needed. Terry : A hot water shutoff valve in the basement supplying the second floor bathroom drips quickly both when : in the fully open position and the fully closed position. Why is this happening and what can I do to : repair it short of calling a plumber. I am not versed in all the names for each part of the valve-are there : any diagrams available?
