: I have 1/4" soft copper running from my basement to the ice maker on my refrigerator. I'd want to make a transition behind the fridge from the copper to one of the flexible plastic-type materials (nylon or PVC). My reason for doing this is to take the strain off the water valve when moving the refrigerator for cleaning. What is the best material to go from the copper to the valve?

Jack,
I like using the "Little Quick" connectors that come with 1/4" ends. They are a reinforced plastic connector that come in five and ten foot sizes.
