Actually, Goof-Off is great, but it doesn't work on Magic marker or oil-based paints and such. Alcohol is a better solvent for magic marker, as it's the original solvent in the tube. Otherwise, it's a bleach job, with spot re-finishing required. Oxalic acid will bleach the stain. : I bought an old wooden (with varnish or shellac) chair that has a name in magic marker on the arm. Any ideas on how to remove it? Thanks.
