I removed the chain stay last night. The hole is one inch in diameter. Is that enough for a mixing spout? : The center unit is just a chain stay for a rubber plug. It is too small for a mixing spout to pass through it. If you are adventurous, you could try drilling it to a larger size, using a carbide hole saw.
: : I have an old pedestal sink with seperate hot and cold water. Between the seperate faucets is : : a metal knob of some sort. Can all three peices be removed and the sink converted to mixed : : temperature? I'll be calling professional plumbers in the next few days to install shutoff valves for this : : same sink and want to see about having this temperature mixing conversion done at the same time. : : Is there anything I should know regarding a possible conversion before I start talking price with these : : guys? : : I imagine a new pedestal sink would be the easiest thing to do, but I want to preserve as many original : : fixtures as I can.
