|In response to Re: kitchen double sink "gulping"|
: Dear Terry,
: i have a double kitchen sink with an insinkerator disposal on the left side. lately, if water is poured down either side of the sink, the opposite side will start to loudly "gulp" and "gurgle" and will continue for a minute or two even after the water has stopped. They seem to drain normally, however, this noise also occurs when the dishwasher is running. The disposal works fine. Any advice?
Well I'm Not Terry,But If I may? It sounds like your kit drain line is starting to get clogged up. (If you can,Or you need to hire a plumber,) clean the drain line and if you have a one story house run a small sewer cable down the vent. This will clean the vent and also prevent a messy situation in the kitchen. If The line Is plugged from the sink to the wall you will have to take the trap apart and clean from there. I don't suggest a drain cleaner because some of them can be harmfull to the disposal. Hope this helps. Dale Peck LMP
