|In response to Re: PVC glue odor in new pipes|
PVC pipe is not approved for use inside buildings, since it has a tendency to crack and cause damage. Copper, CPVC, or PEX are the materials usually used inside a house. So, the odor may be the least of your potential problems.
: I am a DIY, and this past weekend I replaced some pipes in our house. I used PVC, with a medium body glue and purple primer. I am afraid I didn't let the glue set up long enough before putting water in the lines, because since then, there is a very obvious glue odor coming from the water after sitting in the lines for any length of time. Will it eventually go away? Do I have to do the job all over again? Appreciate a reply!
