You cannot use the existing pipe for several reasons besides the one that the pump is still connected to it. The water level is probably too far down to use a single pipe pump, and there is not enough room in the well, normally, for a two pipe system with its injector fitting and the existing pipe. : Can I use an above ground pump without pulling the burned out in ground pump ? Will the valves or pump inhibit the suction side of the new pump ?
