Some water companies add a chelating compound to suspend iron particles when iron is plentiful in the water. This keeps the water clear instead of brown. However, the effect of the chelating compound decreases as the temperature is increased So if you recently increased your hot water temperature setting, this could be the problem,i.e. more iron is settling out. Another possibilty is that the water company cut down on the amount of chelating compound they are adding. Call them and ask. |
