: I've just moved into my mother's house. When I run water into the bathtub I notice that a rusty brown sediment collects at the bottom of the tub.
: Sometimes it is enough to tinge the water brown, but mostly I notice it when the water drains out and the sediment collects at the bottom of the tub.
: I am at a loss as to what this represents, but the obvious choices seem to be sediment from the water heater (?) or bad pipes. I'm not sure who to call for help.

It's gotta be a plumber for this one. Galvanized pipes that have rusted could be the problem, or it could be a "give up the ghost" water heater. Terry
