I am planning on installing a washing amchine in the basement, and need to add a drain (hot and cold water are already in). There is an existing tee on the main stack, about five feet away. Can I simply run a 2" PVC line to the tee? Can I feed the washing machine drain hose directly into an opening end of the 2" PVC? DO I need a trap?
