It can be, just cut the old fittings off, and reshine the pipe.
Also, how do you avoid starting the
: joists on fire when you have to solder in place in a tight spot?
Solder them together before you put them in a tight spot, or as much of it as possible. If it is unavoidable, spray the wood down liberally with water to reduce it's kindling temperature and sheild it with a piece of tin.Hope this helps.....Lou
