I live in a fifty year old house with city water. The water main is original, I think 3/4 inch copper. Not unexpectedly, both the hot and cold water pressure is low and, practically speaking, only one spicket can be used at a time. I've talked to several local plumbers and I get two recommendations. The ones who specialize in water mains say I need a new 1 inch line. The ones who specialize in pumps say I need a in-house booster. Some general contractors (more independent?) have told me the city pressure is low in my neighborhood. One neighboor uses a booster and has good results. What should I do? |
