Water line to refrigerator

I just reinstalled a new line for the fridge. It definately is not working right. The drinking water just trickles out & the water for the ice maker fills up enough for only a couple of cubes of ice. What is wrong? I used 25 ft of the plastic tubing & tapped it into the kitvhen supply line, which I believe is the 1/4" copper> (Or whichever is the smallest diameter copper pipe.) It used to work great b/4 it was disconnected b/c of moving. What did I do wrong & how can I fix it? Thanks
