I start the inital hole with the 1/4" pilot bit. (you may want to do this without the outside blade on) Run the drill on slow speed for best results. Depending on your valve size, you may want a 3" or 4", and you can get by with the 1-3/8" for the spout. The 1-3/8" is nice because you can use a pipe insulator with a 1/2" copper pipe for the tub spout and it holds it snug. Terry
