|In response to Re: ABS waste pipes|
If the PVC is installed with schedule 40 pipe, then there should be little difference, although the PVC fittings are thinner and therefore a little noisier. copper is an overkill, and not much quieter since it is very thin and conducts noise very readily. Cast iron is the densest material and thus is the quietest.
: Are the ABS waste pipes superior to the white plastic waste pipes being used by builders? My understanding is that the ABS are quieter and will last longer. Is is worth it to upgrade to ABS? Would it be better to upgrade to copper?
