The only water powered units I have heard of are aspirator units. If you are in a flooded condition, the last thing you would need is more water. Stay with the battery unit. : Can someone please help me? We are building a house in the midwest, and we had specified a battery back-up. The contractor informed us today that he has heard that the water powered sump pump back-ups are better than battery, although he does not have personal knowledge of them. : I am now frantically trying to learn about the pros and cons of both types of back ups.
