Low Water Pressure

I have a low water pressure problem at the kitchen sink. I seem to have good pressure for a few seconds and then the flow slows down. I notice this to a lesser degree in the bathroom faucets and shower. It's really noticeable in the kitchen. Is there more than one source line coming into the house? Why would the kitchen sink be more noticeable than the other parts of the house? The low pressure is noticeable if I turn on the cold water or hot water. If it's a kink in the line, how much would it cost to fix this (if it's outside versus inside the house?) Thanks! This is driving my wife crazy.
