I have a 1938 tub/shower (I think it is the original plumbling). There are separate handles for the tub and the shower and the tub has a drip. I had a plumber look at it and was told that there are no replacement valves for such tubs. I was told that I have two alternatives: tear out the tile and put a new tub/shower pressure balanced fixture or "rig up" a roman tub set. To be honest, I am having a hard time believing there is not a less expensive alternative for what I expected to be a rather simple problem!
