Elliott: There is a closet flange that can be used in situations such as yours. It does in fact slip down inside the existing closet bend, and an effective seal is created by tightening down four screws that compress a neoprene gasket against the original pipe. There is a provision on this new closet flange to secure it to the floor for added stability(use stainless steel lag bolts for this). Lots of luck...Bud
