: : I am on a public water system and my water pressure is too high. The pressure relief valve on the water heater leaks,(its a new house) and outside water hoses swell to twice their size.

: : I am going to install a water pressure reducer.

: : How can I check what my pressure is now and then be able to know what it is with the pressure reducer.

: Though I've always considered my pressures too low I'd like to know the same thing.

James, get a garden hose to 1/2" female adapter. then a 1/2" x 1/4" brass bushing and a 1/4" 0-200 lb pressure guage and put it all together and put it on your hose bib and turn it on. you should get a pressure reading. It may be higher at different times of the day. experiment. Dale
