Rob: New Washing Machines can discharge a great deal of water in a short period of time. Most siks are equipped with a 1-1/2" trap(and maybe the waste arm too), this might be a tad undersized to provide good results. If possible, get back to the vent and installa 2" Sanitary Tee with a waste arm a 2" W/M station set up. The water supply for the sink will be OK for the new washing machine.
