: I'm having a 2-story house built with 2 toilets down and 2 up. Now that the plumbing is done, the toilets down have a larger diameter drainpipe than the toilets up. Is this normal?

Many plumbing codes require a 4" line when the fourth toilet is added to the system. This is not a problem. In all homes, the sewer is a 4" pipe beginning 18" from the outside of the foundation, all the way to the street sewer. Terry
