|In response to Re: qest pipes|
: I just purchased a home in November 1998 and did not know that it was full of qest pipes. I recently have had two leaks and was told that my home warranty wouldn't cover it and that I would have to file a claim. When I called the claim number given to me, they informed me that the time line expired in August 1997. Does that apply to me even though I just acquired the house in 1998? If it does, is there anything else I can do so the situation will be resolved before my house floats away? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you
YES THERE IS! There is another settlement that may help you out. It is set up through a facility called the Spencer Class. You can have a look at their site at http://www.spencerclass.com This settlement gives homeowners the chance to qualify for a 10% reimbursement on the replacement cost & 10% reimbursement of past damages resulting from past polybutylene leaks. It may not be 100% but something is better than nothing.
