Jimbo: Getting an old clean out plug out of a cast iron fitting can be a booger. If you have already broken the cap in an effort to remove it try this. If the cap is brass, get a good sharp cold chistle and carefully cut the cap from the center to the threaded area, then tap the cap so that it folds in a little. Carefull that none of the cap falls into the pipe while your working on it. If the cap is cast iron you may have to use a sawzall and abrasive blade to get it out. As far as anything being wrong with your plan.. ..follow the instructions that are provided by the mfg. of the pump kit....Bud |
