Sewage Ejection & Wash Machine

I am in the process of putting a bathroom in my basement. I am getting really confused about whether or not to run my washing machine into the pump. I keep hearing conflicting advice. My question has two parts.... 1) Is it true that a washing machine pump is capable of pumping 8-10 vertical feet? 2) If #1 is true, am I better off, just pumping into a line that can be gravity fed to the septic system? OK - three parts....Part of the reason I have been told to do option 2 is that the soap from the washing machine can really mess up the floats in the pump systems... Is that true? Thanks for any help you can give. P.S. I am planning on buying a little giant sewage ejector pump.
