Water Softeners

Someone recently asked a question about water softener recommendations. There haven't been any responses posted. So, anyone out there have opinions? How are the Sears units, new GE's at Home Depot, Water Boss, Star, Kinetico, etc? My application is for public water that's about 10 gr, but I'm sure other people would like to know about units for wells with very hard water too. Can we start a discussion on the board with pros & cons of the different brands and past experiences? JoeB
