: I was replacing a toilet after tiling using a new wax ring. When flush testing a leak occured at the base. What did I do wrong?...

I would try more wax, the toilet should compress the wax down. I put the wax on the flange, and then set the toilet on top. Most require either the thick wax or two normal size rings stacked. Terry
