Yes, as you've suspected, probably a poor job. Grout isn't waterproof, and your new grout may not have been sealed. This would allow moisture to get behind it, and it also would promote more rapid dirtying and/or mold. If I weren't sure what steps to take, I'd hire a tile specialist to look at it and propose a solution. : I bought a house 4 years ago and the previous owner had to have the floor repaired in the tile shower. : I don't know what the problem was but now the "new" tile is cracking, some of the grout is missing, and : some of the tiles have shifted (butting out noticeably). What could be the problem and how do we fix this? : Could it be a poor job to begin with to fix the previous problem? I have also noticed that the "new" grout : turns black quicker and is harder to keep clean than the old grout.
